Learn pottery, week by week
Real skill takes time, and that's the whole point of a weekly class. One week you're fighting to centre a lump of clay on the wheel; a few weeks later your hands just know where to push. You'll throw on the wheel, build by hand with coils and slabs, and glaze the pieces you've made once they come out of the kiln.
We keep groups to six people so Els can actually sit down next to you when you're stuck. Come once to see if you like it, or keep coming and watch your shelf at home slowly fill up with things you made yourself.
What you will learn
- Throwing on the wheel: centring the clay and opening up a shape
- Hand building with pinch pots, coils and slabs
- Glazing, and how colour behaves in the kiln
- Trimming the foot, finishing edges, and how firing works
- Working at your own pace, with Els close by when you need her
